Master Mitchell VII Dan (MA & BA (hons)), became involved in Taekwon-do in the early 1970's. He travels the world attending seminars and officiating at international events. Master Mitchell was a former coordinator of the business of the School of Taekwon-do in the city of Oxford, UK. He has hosted several championships and Training Seminars in the UK.
Master Mitchell is President of both the Grenada Taekwon-do Association formed in 1993; and the Eastern Caribbean TKD Association, founded in 1997. He was appointed Ambassador for the Caribbean in 1998, and awarded Outstanding Instructor in 1999. He was also a founder member involved in the set up of the African Taekwon-do Association to support and promote disadvantaged students of Taekwon-do in the UK. Master Mitchell was promoted to Vice President for the Pan Am Taekwon-do Council, his responsibility and role is to promote and develop ITF Taekwon-do in all the Caribbean Islands. Master Mitchell is also a member of the International Taekwon-do Federation (ITF) Executive committee and consultative council member.
Master Mitchell is currently running ITF Taekwon-do in Grenada and continuing to promote ITF Taekwon-do in the Caribbean. He hosts and conducts seminars and ITF championships in Grenada and the Caribbean. As a member of the International Martial arts Games Committee (IMGC), his role is to distribute information and to pass on information to other martial art organisations.
Master Mitchell is committed to fulfilling his duties and responsibilities. To achieve these goals, his philosophy has been to remain focused, open and available for consultation and discussion when promoting the art of ITF Taekwon-do and Martial arts. |
